For a long time, it was not possible to remove DRM from Kindle for Android. Thanks to the hard work of our technical staff, now Epubor Kindle Converter makes it easy to remove DRM from Kindle for Android 4.16.

PRC is a old Kindle format adopted in the Kindle books from early Kindle Android app. From Kindle for Android V7.2 and later versions, all the downloaded Kindle files are KFX format, not the old PRC format. If you are willing to install the kindle for Android 4.16, then you can still get the old kindle PRC, AZW, or Topaz format, and consequencely, you can use Epubor Kindle Converter to remove drm from kindle for Android.

For users who would like to remove drm from Kindle for Android 4.16, please follow the three steps below.

Step 1. Download and install Android emulator on Windows or Mac.

We do not recommend installing Kindle for Android on your Android mobile or tablet because you may need to root the device to ensure that all your content is accessible. That’s why the Android emulator is recommended here.

No matter you are on Windows or Mac, you can install the Google Android studio on your computer and then create the virtual Android emulator on it.

Two points you need to follow:

1. For Windows and Mac intel chip user, please select the Android image 9.0.
2. For Mac m1, or m2 chip, please select “Other images>>Marshamallow>> API Level 23>>armeabi-v7a>>android 9.0”. See the below screenshot.

Step 2. Install kindle for android 4.16 on android emulator and download kindle books.

Install kindle for Android 4. 16 on Android emulator and then sign in it with your Amazon account. Tap the book cover to download the kindle books.

The app seems to just crash on start up on Android 4.4 and above, is that correct?

Same for me with Android 4.4.2 KitKat! The app crashes. Does somebody released a patched version of the latest Kindle app?

A patch, which seems to work, exists for 4.3.0.67 version of the Android App but I can’t find the apk patched, only the patch… and I don’t succeed in patching the original app… please help !!
(also get a patch for 4.8.1.10 but no clue if it’s working or not…)

Who originally developed this method? Why are they not keeping it updated?? Amazon now blocks downloading to K4PC for a lot of books, so we need an Android based DeDRM tool now.

The original scripts is developed by Alf Apprentice, and the problem is, you need combine this script with Kindle for Android APK file.

over Aptoid XOMMIT-Store Kindle 4.3.0.67 is funktionary (PID is added) and without an virus.
but please scan every time from unknown sources.
PID can u see after open the book on menu-info-info-PID List.

I have the EPUBOR for removing DRM, and everything works fine on my Kindle Fire–older version 1.
However, I have several books showing PRC format only, and they won’t decrypt. All were purchased directly from Amazon, and sent directly to my KF.

I’ve read the guide for removing DRM via android devices, but these books were never on an android.
Help!
